As part of our ongoing Impact Programme at ACS, we are proud to announce our latest Community Project – the refurbishment and furnishing of Appris classrooms.
At ACS we aim to make a difference and ensure that we look out for members of our community, local causes and other local businesses. So, when we heard about the project, we were happy to help.
Appris Charity was established in 1967 and specialises in the delivery of Engineering Manufacture apprenticeships. Appris also offers commercial courses in Management, Personal Development and Health & Safety.
The charity have worked with ACS for several years and advise the business on its quality standards and accreditations (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001). John Igoe, Managing Director at Appris, was looking for support from local businesses to help refurbish several classrooms when he approached ACS to enquire about our Community Project scheme.
Elizabeth Stevenson, Strategic Director at ACS, said “we were thrilled when we were given the opportunity to support a local educational institution in the supply of furniture and interior design. We understand the importance of giving back and at ACS we strive to make a difference to our local community. It was a pleasure to work with Appris on the sponsorship of their classroom and will be supporting them whenever and wherever we can in future”.

ACS supplied furniture, decorating and carpets - all at no cost to Appris. Our talented Designer, Dominic, advised on and designed the branding of the classroom and our Interior Specialist, Vicky, assisted with the supply of the furniture to the so-called “ACS room”.
Mr Igoe was very pleased with the result and told us "the work undertaken by ACS Business Supplies Limited to refurbish our training rooms has exceeded our expectations. We currently have 340 advanced engineering apprentices using our training facilities every week, where the ACS room design provides our learners with an excellent learning environment.""
