A happy work environment matters. A positive work culture improves personal wellbeing and work-life balance – and here at ACS, we genuinely believe in looking after our staff and their wellbeing.
As our business has evolved, so has our approach on employee engagement. From holding regular talks & workshops on a variety of life-related topics, to colleague anniversary celebrations, here are just a few ways we like to give back to our staff to keep our colleagues happy and healthy...
It is important that employees have a good work-life balance. Not only does it improve their mental health, but employees with a good work-life balance are more efficient, productive, and motivated. To ensure that our staff have a greater work-life balance, we give them one Friday afternoon off each month (in addition to their normal holiday allowance). We have also shortened the working day by half an hour, so colleagues have that little bit of extra time to themselves.
We hold regular talks and workshops to help educate and raise awareness on a variety of topics. Recent workshops have included talks on the menopause, pension planning, men’s mental health, and CPR training.
Each week our colleagues get 1 hour during work time to exercise. This gives colleagues the chance to take a break from their desks, whilst keeping active.
The Quiet Room is a safe space for employees to take time away from the main office - equipped with sofas and bean bags.
To promote health and wellbeing, the Wellbeing Studio is a place for employees to engage in fitness activities in either their exercise hour or own time.
We love celebrating long-standing members of staff – that’s why every year colleagues that have been with ACS for 5 years get treated to dinner at the Sky Lounge, Leeds and receive a beautiful watch as a thank you. And if that wasn’t enough, staff celebrating their 10 year milestone get whisked off to Rudding Park – the gents receive a bespoke suit, and the ladies get treated to a VIP jewellery appointment to select a piece of jewellery of their choice.
Recognising and rewarding hard work is really important at ACS, so each year we get our glad rags on and hold a glitzy awards ceremony. Awards include Young Professional of the Year, Outstanding Achievement and Employee / Sales Person of the Year.
Each year we hold our annual Q4 promotion, which sees teams competing against each other for the last three months of the year, to ultimately win a luxury trip of a lifetime. Previous destinations have included Dubai, New York, Monaco, Iceland, and Marrakesh!
Our most popular member of staff, Frosty, became a permanent fixture when we adopted him in 2019. It has been reported that pets in the workplace have a positive mental impact on the wellbeing of employees – which we can definitely agree with!
Making a positive impact from the inside out is our mantra here at ACS and empowering, rewarding & recognising our employees has always been important to us. We are proud that our employees are happy in the workplace and, as a company, we will continue to ensure that employee wellbeing is always at the forefront of what we do.
