Food Truck Operative (ACS Group)

Role overview

The Food Truck Operative plays a key part in delivering ACS’s commitment to its impact policy, providing onsite catering that fuels productivity, boosts well-being, and creates a daily moment of enjoyment for every employee. Operating within a fast paced mobile kitchen, you’ll prepare, cook, and serve fresh, healthy meals and premium drinks, delivered with speed, quality, and a smile.

This role is hands-on, customer facing, and ideal for someone passionate about food, excellent service, and helping people feel energised and valued.

Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve high quality, fresh meals to ACS staff.

  • Handle daily ingredient prep, including washing, chopping, marinating, and batching.

  • Maintain consistency, portion control, and presentation standards.

  • Proactively suggest, design, and deliver menu options, aligning with ACS’s goals around health, wellness, and morale.

  • Deliver a balanced mix of: Healty meals (nutrient-rich, energising option), Daily favourites (crowd-pleasers, reliable go-tos), Themed days (global cuisines, seasonal specials, event tie-ins, cultural celebrations).

  • Adjust offerings based on feedback, seasonality, and operational viability.

  • Provide friendly, warm, and engaging service to all ACS employees.

  • Serve premium barista-style drinks (barista training provided if needed).

  • Be the “friendly face” of ACS’s onsite food experience.

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures.

  • Maintain accurate temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and safety checklists.

  • Handle cash and POS transactions accurately and securely (if required).

  • Inventory & Stock Management

  • Ensure the Airstream is immaculate at all times, inside and out.

  • Maintain compliance with Environmental Health standards and ACS internal policies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen, café, food truck, or catering unit.

  • Ability to propose, plan, and execute varied menu options.

  • Strong customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.

  • Understanding of basic food hygiene and kitchen safety.

  • Organised, efficient, and able to manage peak-time pressure.

  • Barista training (or willingness to undertake ACS-funded training).

  • Knowledge of allergen management and HACCP/SFBB systems. (Desirable)
